Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Godwin Ogbeide Scholarship Foundation, applicants must meet all the following criteria:
Applicants must identify with at least one of the following race or ethnic groups: Black, African-American, Afro-Caribbean, Afro-Latino, or African.
Applicants must be current graduating high school seniors attending a U.S. high school.
Applicants must come from a single-parent household.
Applicants must have a clear intention to major in a STEM-related field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
Applicants must plan to attend a 4-Year University
Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Please note that family members from the Godwin Ogbeide family line are ineligible to apply for this scholarship.
We encourage eligible students who meet these criteria to apply for the Godwin Ogbeide Scholarship Foundation and take the first step toward realizing their educational aspirations in STEM fields.
Selection Criteria
Answer both Essay Questions (300-500 word limit):
Describe your academic and career goals.
Describe the most significant challenge you have faced and the steps you have taken to overcome this challenge. How has this challenge affected your academic achievement?
High School Transcript: Please provide your official high school transcript as part of your application.
Letter of Recommendation: A letter of recommendation from a counselor, principal, teacher, or academic advisor is required. This letter should shed light on your character, accomplishments, and potential as a student.
List of Extracurricular Activities and Awards: Provide a comprehensive list of your extracurricular activities and any awards or recognitions you have received during your high school years.
Curriculum Vitae (Optional): You may choose to submit a Curriculum Vitae (CV) if you wish to provide a more detailed overview of your academic, extracurricular, and personal achievements. This is optional but can offer additional insight into your qualifications.
